Updated: Mar 22, 2022

This notice has been amended to reflect that, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Panel for Educational Policy (PEP) meeting at which this proposal is expected to be voted on will be held via teleconference. Due to the extension of the Governor's Executive Order concerning open meetings law, this meeting will no longer be held in person; it will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 via teleconference. No changes have been made to the original Educational Impact Statement (EIS) for this proposal, posted by the New York City Department of Education (NYCDOE) on February 4, 2022.

A Joint Public Hearing was held to provide the public with an opportunity to present comments or concerns on the proposal. The date, time, and location of the hearing was held as follows:

Date: Wednesday, March 9, 2022 Time: 6 p.m.

This Joint Public Hearing provided an opportunity to learn more about potential changes to building Q011 and share feedback.

The NYCDOE has issued a proposal to open and co-locate a new elementary school site of the existing multi-sited District 75 school, P.S. Q255 (75Q255), to be called P255Q@Q011 in building Q011 (Q011) beginning in the 2022-2023 school year. Q011 is located at 54-25 Skillman Avenue, Queens, NY 11377, in Community School District 30, referred to as District 30. Q011 also houses the community-based organization Woodside on the Move.

P.S. Q255 is an existing multi-sited District 75 school currently serving students in grades K-12 across

Queens. If this proposal is approved, P255Q@Q011 will open and be co-located with P.S. 11 Kathryn Phelan (30Q011), referred to as P.S. 11, an existing zoned district elementary school serving students in grades K-6 and offering a pre-Kindergarten program.

A co-location means that two or more school organizations are located in the same building and may share common spaces, such as auditoriums, gymnasiums, libraries, and cafeterias.

For further information about this proposal, please see the EIS, which is available in the main offices of P.S. 11 and P.S. Q255 as well as on the PEP website at: https://www.schools.nyc.gov/aboutus/leadership/panel-for-education-policy/2021-2022-pages/march-23-2022-school-utilization-proposals.

This proposal must be voted on and approved by the PEP prior to implementation.

You may continue to share comments about the proposal by leaving a voicemail at 212-374-7621 or emailing D30proposals@schools.nyc.gov.

All comments received at least 24 hours in advance of the PEP meeting at which this proposal is subject to a vote will be included in the Public Comment Analysis, which will be made available on the

NYCDOE website after 6 p.m. the day before the PEP vote. The PEP is expected to vote on this proposal on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at 6 p.m. via teleconference at: https://learndoe.org/pep/mar23/.
